Shakespeare's tragedy on stage

When a Woodcutter meets a bear in the forest, to save his life, he gives the bear one of his own daughters to marry. Niña, his daughter, discovers a wonderful secret about the bear and sets off on a great adventure to unlock the secret forever. Berks Opera Company invites you to enjoy this gift to the community; The Bear Prince by Chris Heslop and Vicki Haller Graff, a beautiful production filled with color and magic. Inspired by a Mexican folk tale, this enchanting production blends jazz and opera to tell the story of an enchanted prince! This production is free and open to the public thanks to grants from Arthur Judson Foundation and Reading Musical Foundation. Performance dates are July 11 & 16 at 7pm; July 12, 17, 19 & 20 at 1pm. This shocking discovery thrusts Mortimer into a chaotic struggle to shield his charming yet misguided aunts from the law, all while navigating the eccentricities of his family, including the menacing criminal Jonathan and Teddy, who fervently believes he is former President Theodore Roosevelt.
