Peet and Fort Largs are proud and honoured to have been given the opportunity to bring life back to the Fort. The restoration is now complete and we hope that our residents, locals and visitors from afar will be able to enjoy this amazing place now and well into the future - another 140 years perhaps! For 2024, The Butts Hill Fort Restoration Committee set the ambitious goal of clearing, improving and stabilizing the entire multi-acre southern hemisphere of Butts Hill Fort, essentially accomplishing an “extreme makeover”, transforming the thickly-tangled brush and invasives-ridden site into a truly open historic campus with complete access and visibility of the 250-year-old earthworks. The goals included connecting level pathways and unobstructed view corridors to Quaker, Turkey and Durfee hills to the South, and East to Howland’s Ferry and Tiverton.
