A second-generation Washingtonian, she grew up in Montgomery County, Maryland, and found her passion for Jewish tradition through USY and a transformative Pilgrimage to Israel. With degrees in Secondary English Education and English Language and Literature from the University of Maryland, Ellen built a dynamic career as a high school English teacher and preschool educator before transitioning into synagogue leadership. Since 2001, she has been a dedicated member of Congregation Beth Emeth, where she serves as Lifecycle Coordinator, supporting congregants through significant life events with warmth and compassion.
